Challenging of Pre-schools for Innovative and Creative Environment- CHILD Erasmus+ K220 Action 2021-1-CY01-KA220-SCH-000023910 started this February with the organization of the kick-off meeting hosted by the University of Cyprus. CHILD project recognizes that excellence in pre-school education requires the corresponding training for gaining skills and practical resources to apply them, and as such its main objective is to provide the above to pre-school educators. The aim is to train pre-school staff in open education, social engagement, professional development, ethics, and impact. The  primary aim of CHILD is to develop and reinforce a network of excellence in pre-school education which will increase the institutional capacity for a professional, high-quality, effective and needs-based child care service to operate at transnational level and foster regional integration and cooperation.

The project is coordinated by the University of Cyprus from Cyprus and implemented in the partnership with Inter-Edu- North Macedonia, University of Western Macedonia, Greece, Faraud Line- Greece and Vilnius Gediminius Technical University from Lithuania.

During the meeting prof. Tharrenos Bratitsis from the University of Western Macedonia in Greece presented the first project result “Developmentally Appropriate Practice” DAP Handbook and Training for Pre-school teachers. Prof. Marijana Dimitrova from Inter-Edu presented the second project result “Applied DAP Activities and Educative Digital Resource Library”, while prof. Evangelia Vanesi from University of Cyprus presented the third project result “CHILD Innovative and Creative Web-based Digital Environment”. The project is approved by the Cyprus National Agency and co-funded by the Erasmus+ program. The project activities will be implemented in the period of the following 24 months.
